The CaseTrust Accreditation Scheme for Renovation Businesses was developed by CaseTrust for businesses in the renovation industry. Under this scheme, the businesses undergo a rigorous assessment process on their implementation of transparent business policies, honest and ethical advertising, and proper dispute resolution procedures.

When a renovation company achieves the CaseTrust accreditation, the business has these following mechanisms set in place:

  • Well-defined business practices and system with proper and clearly defined dispute resolution mechanism for both the company and customers.

  • Well-trained personnel who do not practice unethical sales tactics and are able to provide accurate information regarding the renovation.

  • Clearly articulated and documented policies on fees and fees refund that must be fully disclosed to customers.

AgcDesign is proud to announce that we have been awarded CaseTrust accreditation. By choosing CaseTrust accredited ID, your money is protected as the company is required to give homeowners insurance bond guaranteeing a 100% pay-back on their deposit.

HDB Licensed Renovation Contractor

Contractors who are HDB-licensed would have gone through a training course with HDB and learnt about renovation protocol for public housing. This is important because renovation firms that are unfamiliar with the building structure of HDB flats can cause damage to it during the course of renovation works. To prevent that, HDB implements the Registered Renovation Contractors' Scheme (RRCS).

According to the HDB website, the RRCS was introduced to regulate and control the activities of Registered Renovation Contractors (RRCs) when they carry out renovation works in HDB flats. This is to ensure that they do not cause damage to HDB's property or cause nuisance to the residents.

It's a stringent screening process. Here are the main criteria that contractors wishing to apply for the license will have to meet:

  • the contractor needs to successfully complete HDB's training course

  • the contractor must have at least three years of experience and be actively involved in the renovation trade

  • the company needs to be ACRA-registered for a minimum of one year

  • the contractor needs to have ownership of the company for at least a year

  • the company should have unblemished records
